Moments From #StarbaseIndy2017

2017 was a special year on the Starbase.

We debuted our new mission statement, and with it a new focus on science programming and inspiring the next generation of kids to learn about our universe. Here are some of the special moments that your support helped us make reality.

Dr. David Wolf Answers a 4th Grader's question from the Starbase Indy stage. Anni Lute, a teacher who was attending the convention in 2017 spent some time with her fourth graders studying Dr. David Wolf. They each wrote him letters, one of which was read to him while was on stage.
We noticed a very excited fan waiting to hear Kyle Hill speak on the Starbase Indy stage this year, and asked her if she'd like to do the honors of introducing him. She was nervous, but we think she did a wonderful job - we think you will, too.
After opening ceremonies, our CEO was approached by Joyce, who said "I love what you said about the new mission. I want you to know, I'm 70 years old, and I got on a bus at 2:00 Tuesday morning and rode for 17 hours so that I could be here." We are grateful for our attendees, who find the work we do meaningful and love getting together with their geek family at Starbase Indy every year.
