Dr. David Wolf

At Starbase Indy, we try and bring you guests that are “out of this world” - so we’re especially excited to bring in someone who has literally been out of this world!

Dr. David Wolf has been to space four times, logging 168 days, 12 hours, 56 minutes and 4 seconds in space. He’s been on seven space walks totaling 41 hours and 17 minutes. His space flight experience includes science, medicine, ISS assembly, and long duration missions on the International Space Station, MIR Space Station, Space Shuttle, and Spacelab. In 2011, he was inducted into the Space Technology Hall of Fame.

Dr. Wolf is also a prolific inventor. He has 17 patents on 3-dimensional tissue engineering methods. He was named NASA Inventor of the Year in 1992, and won the NASA Exceptional Engineering Achievement Medal in 1990. Since retiring from NASA, he’s founded co-founded two companies, EarthTommorow, Inc. and Spektron Systems, which are working to bring his creative and technical innovations into the world where they can improve people’s lives.

Inspiring people is a passion for Dr. Wolf. that's why he spends time visiting his Alma Mater, Purdue University, as a Professor of Aerospace Engineering. He’s inspired us at Starbase Indy twice in the past - and we are grateful to be able to bring him back to share his experiences and motivate us to learn more about our world and the universe around us.
